Laura was born June 16, 1921, to Jesse S. Clark and Ruth D. Crain in Dexter, Missouri.
On May 16, 1942, Laura married Alan E. Johnson and moved from Poplar Bluff, MO to Portland, OR. She lived the majority of her life and raised her family in Portland, working at Holman Transfer Co. for many years. Rose City Methodist Church and the people Laura and Alan met there formed the foundation for their family years.
Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Alan Johnson, her daughter, Joyce Don, and her brothers Clarence and Charles Clark. She is survived by her daughter, Jean London (Mark), and her five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
While her husband was alive, Laura and Alan liked to travel and play bridge with friends. They enjoyed the sun of Hawaii and the experiences of Europe and Asia. After Alan’s death, Laura’s love of bridge and love of her bridge group continued. Most people who knew Laura will remember her faith, love of family, love of friends and strong independent spirit.
At her request, no memorial service will be held.
Arrangements under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, Tigard, OR.
