September 15, 1927-March 2, 2021
Lee Fah, 93, a longtime resident of Hillsboro, Oregon, passed away after a short illness on March 2, 2021 in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Lee was born in Logan, Kansas on September 15, 1927 to Mary Jean King and Hugh McKee King. After her mother and family moved to Washington State, she graduated from Fort Vancouver High School. Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Robert Earl Fah and they were married on July 23, 1945. The majority of their married life was spent in Hillsboro where Bob was a savings and loan executive and Lee was a homemaker and an active parent. After Bob died in 2001, Lee enjoyed life at Summerfield in Tigard, Oregon before moving closer to family in Lake Oswego.
Besides her husband, Lee was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Seglem and Carol Woolf as well as her brother, Edgar King. She is survived by her children, Doug Fah (Nancy), Martha Stiven (Peter) and Brad Fah (Elaine) as well as nine grandchildren (Jim, Lisa Carlsson, Scott, Alison, Malea, Lisa Armichardy, Robert, Kevin and Megan) and nine great grandchildren (Leo, Noah, Ella, Jude, Knox, Carter, Ford, Ronan and Tate).
Lee was passionate about life. While living in Hillsboro, she was very active in her community including membership in the Tuality Hospital Auxiliary and the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) as well as serving as the bookkeeper for the Hillsboro United Methodist Church for many years. In addition, she cherished her time during family outings; especially at Swift Creek Reservoir and later in life, golf and sun get-a-ways to Maui, Hawaii and Westbrook Village in Peoria, Arizona. Lee played bridge all of her adult life and loved playing any kind of cards with friends, family and especially her grandchildren. She loved hosting family during holidays and her pie making skills were legendary.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at The Springs at Carman Oaks and Providence Hospice for the loving care she received.
Lee’s family and friends were blessed to have known her and she will live in their hearts forever. A private family burial was held at the Washougal Washington Memorial Cemetery where Lee was reunited with her husband and other Fah family members. Please share memories and condolences at the Young’s Funeral Home website. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society in her name.
