

Lyle Klettke, 88, of Portland, Oregon, passed away June 9th. He was born in Kulm, North Dakota on May 26, 1929 to Bernard and Matilda Klettke. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland on January 31, 1947. He enlisted in the US Air Force on June 4, 1947, served in the occupation forces in Japan as a radar operator and repairman and was honorably discharged on May 4, 1950.
Lyle was married to Dorothy Elizabeth Davis on October 14, 1950 in Portland. The were married for 66+ years. Lyle worked in the consumer electronics industry for more than 40 years. Most of that time for Motorola teaching other technicians how to troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment like televisions.
He had a passion for fast cars (it runs in the family) and raced stock cars here in Portland and around the northwest for nearly 10 years along with other family members. He also had a passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Lyle was the youngest and only survivor of 11 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and two sons, Rick and Randy, three grandchildren, Jeremy, Melissa and Timothy and one great granddaughter, Sofia.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, July 9th at Young’s Funeral Home 11831 SW Pacific Hwy, Tigard, OR 97223.
