Mary was born August 30th, 1944, to Gladys and Donald Farmer and grew up in Lake Oswego with her siblings, Dan Whedon, Janet Adrian and Jim Farmer. She is survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In 1970, she gave birth to her only child, Dawn Brase. She was also a mother to her stepchildren, Tracy and Mike Banks.
Mary held several jobs over the years but loved her time at Nike where she met so many wonderful friends and enjoyed traveling, playing softball and race walking. She held very fond memories walking on Team Supremes for many years at Portland To Coast.
Mary was always active and enjoyed walking every day, lifting weights, sewing and gardening. She also enjoyed listening to her favorite music by artists such as Van Morrison, Elton John and James Taylor. She loved animals and dedicated her time volunteering at Cat Adoption Team.
Mary’s true loves in life were her grandchildren, Haley and Jackson. She cherished each moment with them as they grew and loved coloring with them, baking, doing crafts and playing endless games of hide and seek during their younger years. She also loved watching them play sports including Jack’s basketball and soccer and Haley’s dancing. She never missed a single game, performance or competition and wrote down every score and award they received.
Mary retired from Pacific Office Automation in 2013 with a celebratory trip to Maui, Hawaii with her daughter, son-in-law, John and grandkids. She soon moved to Tigard to be closer to her family and continued her love of gardening, sewing, walking daily and spending time with family and friends.
She is missed and loved immensely. A Celebration Of Life will take place on August 13th with more details to come. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in her memory to Cat Adoption Team. https://catadoptionteam.org/support/.
