Mary grew up in Linton (Portland) and was married on May 19, 1951 to Herman Haas. They lived next door to her parents for 7-years. During this time Jan, Larry and Mary were born. They then moved to the country, to a 2-acre farm in Tigard, where Tom was born. They enjoyed a large garden of fruits and vegetables and raised farm animals. It was important to Mary that the children attend church and she insured that they attended both church and Sunday school regularly.

Mary also has 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. After Herman died in 1988 Mary sold the property and moved to Highland Heights (King City) where she lived until she moved to Canfield Place (Beaverton). After the children left home, Mary worked as an office worker for Farmers Insurance and was an avid Avon dealer for many years. Mary loved square dancing, playing cards, and putting puzzles together.

Mary's health was declining in recent weeks and on Friday, February 12, she suffered a major stroke and passed away on Tuesday, February 16.

An informal memorial service (gathering) to share memories of Mary in support of families and friends is scheduled for February 27, 2021, 3:00pm, at SW Bible Church, location: corner of SW Murray and Weir Rd. All are welcome to attend.
