Pete Ringnalda (1941-2016) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born and raised in Artesia, California and is survived by his wife, of 52 years, three daughters and their husbands, and eight beautiful grandchildren. He passed away after nine years of retirement in King City, Oregon.
Our dad was a hardworking, simple man who merely wanted to make sure his family was well taken care of. He was proud of his family, and he loved us unconditionally. In his mind, he had everything he ever needed. All he wanted in life was to make sure his family was happy and well provided for. He was smart, funny, fair, and a good friend. Anyone could count on Pete, even the local stranger. He would be there when you needed him and often times went above and beyond in his effort. He believed in helping people.
He was our hero. He was a teacher, a planner for that rainy day, a plumber, a mechanic, a carpenter, and a problem solver. We could count on our dad for a helping hand whether it was a loan for our first car, fixing that leaky faucet, going to the store for that one item we forgot, giving a ride to/from school/piano for one of his kids or grandkids, or just some simple words of encouragement to get us through. He gave us the tools we needed to be successful in life. The impact he had on everyone’s lives was positive.
He enjoyed watching his eight grandchildren develop and grow into amazing individuals. He cherished his wife and made sure she was cared for. Our dad gave us knowledge, advice, and instilled in us a sense of responsibility, confidence, and trust. He loved us unconditionally. He checked on us as adults and told us what was happening in our own community with reminders that opportunities were always out there for us.
One of his hobbies was his ’52 Chevy. He enjoyed a cruise around the block in it or or a trip to get ice cream. Anyone who knew Pete knew he was also a goofball. We remember how often he used silly tactics to cheer us up, play with us, or simply make us laugh. We all loved him very much.
Our dad’s legacy will not only live on through the lives of his wife, daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren, but through all of the lives of the people he has touched. He is in our hearts and our minds. We love you Dad! He will be missed dearly.
His Daughters,
April, Alice, and Karen
