

Rose Marie Driehorst, a lifelong Portland-area resident, passed away in Portland on February 24, 2014 at the age of 66. Rose was born January 14, 1948 in Portland to Thomas and Mary (Lepeak) Finn. Rose was the Oregon Easter Seal Baby of 1952, and was a 1966 graduate of Tigard Senior High School. Rose attended Western Business College for two years, and after a series of jobs including working at Goodwill, she went to work in the Crippled Children Division of OHSU as a bookkeeper and receptionist, retiring in 2004 after thirty years’ service.
In 2003 she married James Driehorst in Portland.
Rose Marie will be remembered as a selfless and hardworking, kind and gentle soul, who was generous with her time and her spirit with everyone, especially young people. She was also known as “tactful, but very articulate in making a point.”
One of her favorite sayings was, “Find joy in the little things, because the big things don’t come around too often.
She was as beautiful as a rose.
Rose Marie will be missed by her husband Jim Driehorst of Milwaukie;
Mother Mary Finn of Tigard;
Sisters Sheila Smith and husband Gary of Green Valley, AZ and Elaine Dayson of Charbonneau, OR
and brother Patrick Finn of Tigard;
and by a niece, Leslie Thomas of Tualatin.
Private family services will take place at a future date.
