

Victor Austin (Vic) Corchero, aged 87 passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Vic was born on March 23, 1937 in Gilroy California, where he spent his formative years on a family farm. He went on to attend high school at Gilroy High and honorably served his country in both the Army National Guard and Coast Guard before later working at companies like Philco-Ford and then as a technician at IBM for over 30 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
After retiring from IBM, Vic and his wife Jean moved to Shady Cove Oregon. Vic continued to serve his community by sitting on the city council, acting in local theater productions and running for a state representative seat.
Vic enjoyed gardening, playing ping-pong, visits with his family and friends and generally having a laugh and a good time with all those around him.
Vic was preceded in death by his wife Jean, his son Andrew, his daughter Kristi and his sister Maxine.
Vic is survived by his sister Josephine, his daughters Vicki and Tammi and his sons Tony and Charlie, and by his 9 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
