

Anna Grace Wendt passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, following a long battle with vascular dementia. Anna Grace, lovingly known to most as “Grace,” was born on July 21, 1937, in Thurmont, Maryland, to Charles and Olive Barrick. She spent the majority of her life in Towson, Maryland, where she built a life rooted in love, family, community, and lasting friendships.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Duane Wendt; her sons, Duane David Wendt (Jeannie MacLeod) and Robert Wendt (Kate Wendt); and her cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Wendt, Ryan Wendt, and Anna Wendt. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces, extended family members, and local friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Olive Barrick, her older brother , Charles Barrick Jr. and her younger brother, James Barrick.
Grace graduated from Towson University in 1959 and went on to become a teacher, a profession she devoted 13 years to with care and dedication. She later worked as a medical receptionist and in medical billing for eight years. Grace was an active and devoted member of Divinity Lutheran Church for 62 years, where she faithfully served on the Altar Committee. She and Duane shared a love of travel and enjoyed many memorable trips to Europe, often alongside close friends, creating treasured memories together. Grace also found joy in daily walks around her neighborhood, especially when shared with her family and grandchildren.
An avid reader, Grace was a member of several book clubs and particularly enjoyed mysteries, history, and all things related to British royalty. She was also a longtime member of the local Garden Club and took great pleasure in tending to her own garden. Grace will be remembered for her strength and her deep devotion to her husband, family, and friends.
A private graveside service will be held for family. A celebration of Grace’s life is being planned and will be announced at a later date, so that all who loved her may come together to remember and celebrate her.
