I was so sad to hear today of Aunt Dorothy's passing.  She always made me laugh, especially when she laughed.  It was definately contagious.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to the Blair Family.  Ruth Atkinson Clark was my Mom. She would tell us stories about her family and I remember seeing Aunt Dot from time to time growing up. May you find comfort knowing she is now an angel in Heaven.

Dee Dee taught us a lot in life, she taught us how to crochet, she taught us how to play Gin Rummy, she taught us how to make extra thin sugar cookies, but the thing she taught us best was that you must have thick skin in life. Dee Dee didn't pull any punches, she was who she was and made no apologies for it. She had lots of tragedy in her life yet she was a very strong woman, one we looked up to and admired. Dee Dee is the reason for so many of our childhood memories. Sunday dinner at Dee Dee and Pop's was a constant in our lives while growing up. Dee Dee frying chicken, mashing potatoes and serving stinky sauerkraut are some of our earliest memories. Afterwards there was Dee Dee squirting fake sweetener in her tea, doing the Star crossword puzzle with one pair (out of many)of her filthy reading glasses, smoking her long brown Moore cigarettes. It was as special as Santa with his pipe. We can remember running Dee Dee's house in search of the infamous thin sugar cookies she loved to hid. (We were still looking for these in her apartment this summer!) Dee Dee was always sitting down crocheting a blanket growing up, think she made enough to keep the homeless warm! Every year on Christmas we would go to Dee Dee's, Topper would greet us in his special way, and she would have a giant pile of boxes on the sofa...we were always so delighted to receive our underwear on hangers! Holidays at Dee Dee's were always special, although we were never allowed in the "adult room" for Thanksgiving, she always held the wishbone for us. On Easter Dee Dee had the best ideas, napkins glued on styrofoam eggs with glitter still adorn our homes to this day! Dee Dee never failed to have stale peeps and the best kielbasa in town, and she was so thoughtful to save us some as adults for our families. Dee Dee even made the 4th of July special, we have never gone anywhere else that serves half a crab in the soup. These are really just a few of the ways Dee Dee made our childhood special. As adults we tried to make the time in our lives to continue to see and visit Dee Dee. Outings with Dee Dee to buy her 'Alfred Dunner', cheesesteak lunches, fixing her broken rosaries, eating frozen chocolates from her freezer.....there was never a dull moment with Dee Dee. She was a lady of pearls and heels...they say she was 95 when she passed, we don't know really because she always said her age was "none of your business"....WE LOVED OUR DEE DEE AND WILL MISS HER TERRIBLY. THANKS FOR THE PRICELESS MEMORIES!

thanks for sharing your grandmother with us! To your Mom and Dad, I have many childhood memories of DeeDees laughter and loved how the Blair house was a place to gather, celebrate and have fun being together.  DeeDee never missed a party!
Gigi, the care, dedication and love that you gave to DeeDee have been a true example of how we are called to be Christ for one another. You are both strong and passionate ladies and DeeDee's legacy will live on in you! Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord - and let perpetual light shine upon her!

I will always remember Aunt Dorothy saying "oh David" and her laugh when I would make fun of other family members wrapping up piles of leftover to take home or some other smart off the wall comment.  And she always drank that Creme de Mente on ice during Christmas.  One of my favorite Aunts indeed

Dorothy always made evey Christmas and holiday special for me and Colleen.  I will never forget spending so many evenings sitting at the table discussing everythin under the sun.  She was always there for me with her sense of humor and wisdom.  I will miss her!

I have quite a few memories of DeeDee when we were kids. She was something else...quite a character! Thinking of all the Blairs and their extended family today. Rest in Peace Dee Dee.

May the God of comfort grant you peace of heart to endure the loss of Ms. Dorothy. May you gain strength in your fondest memories.

Aunt Dorothy was such a sweet and funny lady.  I will always remember Christmas at her house as she and Uncle Eddie made Christmas special for me and my brothers and sisters.  May God bless her with his tender care as she rejoins Sunny, Patty, and Uncle Eddie.

Aunt Dorothy was made of iron. Through much sadness in her life, I always remember her with a smile on her face as she pinched my cheek. I was fortunate to frequently run into her while out and about, most recently on a Father's day at Target. May she rest in peace while reunited with her children and Uncle Ed. My prayers are with the Blair and McAllorum families.
