

Gus, born May 17, 1923, 89 years young, returned to our Lord on April 8, 2013. Gus served in WWII as a waist gunner on B24 bombers, later as an instructor and Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corp, Eighth Air Force, Second Air Division, and 453rd Bomb Group. Gus was retired as a teacher, Realtor, and general aviation pilot. His greatest joy, other than his family, was flying his Cessna 172. He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Mary M. Tsottles (nee Moore) and the late Jennie Tsottles (nee Senanes); loving father of Christine Landefeld (Robert), James Tsouvalos (Karen), Nicholas Tsottles (Nancy), Leni Tsottles and Constance Michaels (Todd); beloved brother of Michael Tsottles and the late George Tsottles and Anna Vailas; cherished Papou of Adam (Irina), Daniel and Natalie Tsottles, Gregory and Marcus Tsouvalos; dear great-grandfather of Caroline Noel.
The family will receive friends in the LEMMON FUNERAL HOME OF DULANEY VALLEY INC., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Monday, 2-4 & 7-9pm with a Trisagion Service at 7:30pm. Mr. Tsottles will lie in state in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 Cub Hill Road, Parkville, MD 21234 on Tuesday, April 16, 10:30-11am at which time services will be celebrated. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in Gus’ honor to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at the above address.
