I am so sorry for your loss.  Mr. LaVey was a wonderful person and an inspiration to everyone who knew him.  My family has very fond memories of many gatherings throughout the years with the LaVey family. May God Bless all of you.

"Mom Mom", Marty, Bernie, Rose, and the rest of this wonderful mans family~ We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to have met and spent time with "Pop Pop".  He was a wonderful man who has left an impact in our hearts. He was an example of how we should all strive to live our lives so that when it is our time, we too leave this world making others feel the way he has.  You are in our thoughts today and during the difficult days ahead.  I take comfort in believing he is with my niece right now, meeting her, holding her, loving her, before she joins us here on Earth.

Another Eagle Scout has flown home.  May the great Scoutmaster of all Scouts be with us until we meet again.  Jim will most surely be missed.

Papa Jim was a great guy and so much fun!  The ever-attending host at so many family functions.  I was so glad I was able to see him a few months ago when I stopped by the house.  He and Mama Rose were in great form.  Love to you, Mama Rose, Rick, Bernie and Margaret.  I will see you soon.

Mr Jim began as my patient years ago and soon became my friend and, as I am saddened at Jim's passing, my thoughts and prayers go out to Ms Rose and her family at this difficult time.

The Pioneers will miss you, dear friend and co-worker. There will be an empty place at the Pioneer luncheons, that will never be filled.

I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in numerous Eagle Scout Boards of Review at Jim's home and I attended many Eagle Scout Courts of Honor where Jim conferred the Eagle Scout rank on deserving Scouts. He was kind, thoughtful, helpful and inspirational to all who knew him. He was truly a great man in every sense of the word and he will be missed. Rest peacefully, Jim, knowing that your words and deeds inspired many young men who have gone on to be leaders in our community and beyond. Thank you for your life-long service to our country and to Scouting.

My sympathy's and condolences to his wife and daughters and grandchildren, and great grandchildren he loved so much. His family loved and cherished this man for all he embodied as a true man of deeds and achievements too numerous to list and he shared his life for family, peace, and duty to god and country and anyone he met. 

A great man to all who knew him, and even greater American veteran that served in WWII in Europe as a flight crew member and patriot of America with pride and honor. I loved his war stories and we talked a few times and I really admired his spirit and compassion and pride. His many comrades are already waiting for his arrival for one more reunion. 

James Lavey was a man of action who didn't let anything keep him from serving his children or the young americans as an inspiration of greatness with humility and the respect he gave and received.
 
We have lost an american hero and icon but his life of giving will live on in the hearts and minds for generations to come and the thousands of scouts he inspired as an example of being the best you can be.

Mr. LaVey was one of the kindest, sweetest men I have every met.  I had the privilage of being Advancement Chairperson for Troop 433 for eight years, and had my first Board of Review at Mr. LaVey's house for one of our Eagle Scouts.  That is where I first met Mr. LaVey, and went on to have 17 scouts from our Troop earn the rank of Eagle Scout during those eight years - including all 3 of my sons.  I had a great admiration and respect for Mr. LaVey, and am deeply saddened at his passing.  He was a wonderful man, and I'm so glad to have known him.  My family expresses our condolences to his family.

Jim was my first supervisor at Western Electric in 1967.  I will always remember him as being fair and kind to everyone.  I have not seen Jim for about 25 years, but I know he was still fair and kind to all who knew him.

Mr.Lavey was a remarkable man, he will live on in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched.  Mr.Lavey oversaw both of my son's Eagle Scout Board of Review.  He will truely be missed by the Scouting community but will never be forgotten.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Mr. LaVey was such a wonderful person who knew how to get the most out of life.  I will always treasure the many memories I have of Mr. LaVey, especially in the past 15 years.  He was really like an adopted father to me and my sisters.  Thank you for sharing your Mom and Dad with our family.  Heaven just got another angel.

I am honored to have known Jim. He was such a wonderful person. I hope that you find some measure of comfort knowing that so many of us are holding you close in our thoughts and prayers.

So sad to lose such a special person!  I have wonderful memories of all the Western Electric years, he was always the best role model both at work and in the community.  And he was a good friend to my Dad, and always there for my Mom after Dad passed away.  I'm sure Dad and Jim will enjoy many memory sessions in heaven.
