I worked with Jerry when I was freelancing with Carton Donofrio years ago. He had smart insights into his clients, an easygoing manner, and a very enjoyable sense of humor. I will miss him, but I take comfort in knowing that he is at peace. My best wishes to Jerry’s family.

My condolences to Julie and the family.  During my time at GBMC, Jerry collaborated with me on multiple projects including his especially wise advocacy for our patients on our board safety committee. I loved his sense of humor and insights into music and people. He is much missed.

Jerry and I worked together for several years. The job was very hard and very long. But his friendship and support helped make each task easier.
He was quite a guy. And he will be missed.

Marge and I are so very sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. We recall the many times at choir rehearsal that we spoke about the songs that were scheduled and the chords he would have to practice later. He always wished he could get the list of songs a week early so he could practice more. Our  memories and prayers are with Julie and the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing.  He was a marvelous musician and so generous with his teaching and encouragement.  I think of him every time I play at Mass.  Judy please know that you are in my prayers and I will ask Jerry to look out for me whenever I play.

The fondest memory I have of Jer goes way back to1973 and is responsible for the existence if Ellen, Katherine and most recently our grandson, Marcus. How?

 Earlier in that summer, by a fluke coincidence, my first college roommate and friend of 61 years, now, Bill Sweet, Julie, and another college friend along with Robin had run into each other quite by accident in front of the University of Chicago Bookstore. They were shocked to all find each other together by happenstance after all the years since graduation and were trying to think of anyone else that might still be around when Bill mentioned me, who was just finishing my first year in grad school. He knew where my office was. What a delightful surprise when all showed up at my office door, particularly this beautiful woman, Roberta.

Julie and Jer had been house sitting for a couple in Hyde Park during that summer and was about to depart when she and Jer decided to host a final party at the house to which they graciously invited my along with many other friends including Bill and Robin. I was too insecure to actually talk with Robin, but, fortunately, Bill was not.

A few days later, Bill returned to my office and advised me that I should really go out with Robin. Of course, I thought, what a great idea! Unfortunately, I did not have Robin’s phone number so I had to call the phone number at the house they were sitting. Jer answered and I had to ask him for her phone  number. As people who knew Jer know, there were a few hearty “gefaw” laughs at someone who was too stupid not to have gotten her phone number in the first place, but, most critically, he did give me her number. The rest is history for which I am forever indebted to Jer. Thanks guy!!

Jerry was an all-around fun guy, smart, sharp, quick, and he took well to kidding around.  When he would come into the Cockeysville Library when Julie was working I loved to go up to him, pull on his shoulder (like the nuns used to do in the fifties...) and pretend to call security.  He had a great smile.  It was a tough road for him for the last several years, but he and Julie walked it together with courage and grace.  God bless you, Jerry.
