

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Louis John Sergi Jr. at the age of 67 on February 21, 2026. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Lou was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was a long time resident of Phoenix, Maryland. He attended Towson University as an undergraduate before receiving his MBA from Loyola College. Lou began his lifelong career in transportation as an Ocean City boardwalk tram operator. He retired from Baltimore County Public Schools in 2021 after serving for 41 years as a Transportation Supervisor. Lou also owned and operated Bentley Driver Training School for 31 years. In addition to spending time in Ocean City, Lou enjoyed boating, playing poker, and watching all the Baltimore sports teams. He especially enjoyed holding crab feasts and cookouts with family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Jo, his four children, Morgan Vickers (Zach), Jack Sergi (Ciara), Lauren Sergi, and Brian Sergi. He is also survived by his mother, JoAnn Sergi, and predeceased by his father, Louis Sergi. In addition to his parents, Lou is survived by his two sisters, Jennifer Hauss (Jon) of California and Rebecca Sergi (Ralph Jones) of Virginia. Lou was known as “Woo Woo” to his three grandchildren, Brooke Sergi, Blake Vickers, and Gavin Vickers.
The family would like to welcome all friends and family to celebrate Lou's life on Saturday, March 21st from 2-5pm at the Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Department located at 11210 York Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030. Parking is provided on the fire company’s parking lot and on the adjacent BGE substation parking lot. Parking is prohibited in front of the firehouse engine room bays, the entrances to York Road or Schilling Road, and in designated Fire Fighter ONLY parking spaces.
