On May 1, 2013, M. Virginia "Ginny" Minch; loving wife of Henry A. Minch; devoted mother of John K. Keyes, Paul H. Minch and his wife Julie; dear sister of Charlotte Sharp, Ralph Harrison, and the late Willard “Jimmy” Harrison; cherished grandmother of Tiffany T. Keyes, Brian C. Minch, and David H. Minch.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Ginny was a lifelong resident of Maryland. Early in her career, she went to work on a part time basis for McCormick & Co. where she coordinated projects such as the Unsung Hero Award Banquet. However, she made a name for herself in real estate when she went to work for Russell T. Baker & Co. in the early 1970s. She then worked for W.H.C. Wilson & Co. before venturing out and opening her own firm, Ginny Minch & Company. Many of her clients became good friends as she treated everybody she knew like family. Known for her energy, vivacious personality, and sense of humor, Ginny had the gift of making people feel special.
Ginny was a devoted wife for 62 years to Henry, and a wonderful mother to her children, John and Paul. She enjoyed art, traveling around the world, and being outside in her garden. She loved music, but couldn’t sing a note, though that didn’t keep her from trying! And she loved her dachshund, Hershey, who recently passed away.
She retired in 1983, and bought a second home in N. Myrtle Beach where she and Henry enjoyed many happy times with friends and family. Ginny also settled into the role of grandmother. Her three grandchildren, Tiffany, Brian and David, were the joy of her life. Known to them as “Nana”, she spoiled them with the love that only a grandmother can give.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Thursday, May 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 10th at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1401 Carrollton Avenue, Towson, Maryland 21204
In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed in Ginny's memory to The Baltimore Museum of Art, 10 Art Museum Dr., Baltimore, MD 21218, ATTN: Membership Dept.
