

ESTERO, FL - Norman William Wilder Sr., 87, died unexpectedly April 9, 2026 at a Ft Myers Florida hospital. He was born July 26, 1938, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Norman Ellsworth Wilder and Dolores A. Wilder, nee Folderauer.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Anna Eileen Kowalewski (Mickey), his brothers-in-law; Andrew C Marx (Sheila) and Paul T. Marx (Marlene), his sisters-in-law; Dolores A. Rynties (Tony), Joan M. Gorsuch (Fletcher) and Rita M. Boyd (Waller).
Norman is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Elizabeth Wilder, nee Marx, their sons, Norman William Jr., Thomas Anthony and loving daughter-in-law, Linda Sue, brothers-in-law; Charles J Marx (Jane), Richard W. Marx (Barbara), Sisters-in-law Marlene Marx (Paul) & Betty James (John) and many nieces and nephews.
Norm attended Loyola College to Study accounting. He served his country as a member of the US Army, Maryland National Guard. Married his high school sweetheart, Arlene Elizabeth Wilder, nee Marx and settled in Baltimore before moving to Estero Florida with his wife of 67 years.
He was a wonderful husband, companion and father who left many friends. Norm was an avid cook who loved to trade recipes and enjoyed golfing, travelling and reading.
Norman will be interred in a private funeral service in Maryland.
