A proud veteran, Russell served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he dedicated his professional life to the road as a commercial truck driver, a career that spoke to his work ethic and reliability. Prior to Russell entering the Army education was very important and he attended the Baltimore County School system.
His life was anchored by his love for his wife, whom he met at church the beginning of a beautiful journey that spanned 38 years and countless trips together. Above all else, he loved his family, providing them with a legacy of warmth and strength.
Known for his impeccable appearance, Russell took great pride in "dressing to the nines." He appreciated the finer things in life, a journey that began with his first Buick and culminated in a lifelong appreciation for Cadillacs. When he wasn't behind the wheel of a car, he could often be found outdoors, meticulously tending to his yard on his lawn tractor.
His home was often filled with the sophisticated sounds of Jazz and Big Band music, and he was a spirited sports fan through every era of Baltimore history. Whether he was cheering for the Ravens, the Baltimore Colts, or his beloved Dodgers, his enthusiasm for the game was unmistakable.
Russell Francis Daughton was the devoted son of the late Lewis and Agnes Daughton; loving husband of Margaret Daughton for 38 years; beloved father of Glen Russell Daughton and his wife Dorothy, Louis Frazier and his wife Joyce; cherished grandfather of Nickcora Daughton, Shamika Brown, Stephen Daughton, Ben Frazier, and Michele Frazier; also survived by many adoring great grandchildren; dear brother of the late Irene Forward, Helen Dorsey, Mary Hasup Mackrey, Marnette Thomas, Vernon Daughton and Ann Madden; also survived by a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and their children.
Russell will be remembered as a sharp-dressed man with a kind soul, a sharp mind, and a heart dedicated to those he loved.
