

Sally Duran passed away on May 16, 2025. She was the loving wife of Raymond Duran for 63 years, and they had an extraordinary life together. Sally was the beloved mother of Michael Duran and his wife Maggie, Michelle Bolgiano, and her husband Richard and Lisa Hohl, and her husband Larry. She was also the dear sister to Norma Shroff and Mona Lisa Rivera.
Sally Duran was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 11, 1932, to Miguel (Mike) and Angie Rivera. She had two siblings the late Norma Schrof and Mona Lisa Rivera (preceded in death). Her parents were from Puerto Rico. Sally grew up in New York and met her future husband, Ray, while working in a candy shop when she was 16. The two were married in January 1950 with 63 years of marriage until the passing of Ray in July 2015. Ray and Sally were blessed with three children Michael Duran, Michelle Bolgiano and Lisa Hohl. Sally now has 6 grandchildren Amy, Shanan, Sara, Christopher, Stephen and Brandon and eight great grandchildren, Ethan, Jeremy, Koen, Ella, Eva, Chloe, Charlotte and Avery. She was proud of her family and loved to talk about them.
Sally has always been a hard-working woman. She worked on Wall Street until moving to Maryland. After raising her children, she did bookkeeping in the family business Ray started. The “Duran Service Company” was a tool repair business, and she worked there for 25 years until her retirement. Sally and Ray were also very active in the Knights of Columbus where she was involved in the Ladies of Notre Dame Council. Sally and Ray loved to travel, and she had fond memories of traveling to Spain and various locations throughout Europe.
Sally was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed Harry Belfonte and Latin music she could dance to. She liked bingo, going to the casino, watching hallmark love stories, shopping and going out and a having a glass of wine. She would always say "I love you and don’t forget me."
She will always be loved by her family and friends, and she will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) on May 24, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at which time Sally’s life will be celebrated at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
