Dear Wally,
I am very fortunate to have had Sandy in my life.  She was "my" President when I was on Chi Sigma National Council.  Sandy was always in the right place at the right time doing the right thing in the right way.  She was always sweet, kind and thoughtful to me.
I know you will always feel her life touching you in the familiar things she touched, worked with and the very closeness and love of her family.  She lives on in your life and in the lives of all others who knew and loved her.

To Sandy's Family. It is hard to express how much Sandy will be missed not only by your wonderful family, but by her many other friends, and definitly by me. Thanks to our parents, we met about 62 years ago. A long time friendship like this does not occur easily but somehow even with gaps from time to time when our lives took off in other directions, we met again, renewed our relationship which continued and we grew into even closer friends. Dinner on Friday nights; playing golf whether it was just Sandy, Wally, Bob and I,(a challenge since I was a newcomer to golf); or with the MR Duffers group who traveled for years to Myrtle Beach for a week of golf in the Fall; or for a weekend closer to home in the Spring.  We enjoyed trips to Bermuda, to Ocean City for New Year's Eve celebrations, to Chi Sigma Sorority Events. And then there were the monthly Friday night Pinochle games with Sandy and Wally, Jim and Joanne, Cynthia and Joe, and Bob and I. Not long ago we recently switched to a dice game called, Left, Right, and Center which allowed us to talk, and just enjoy each other without having to pay close attention. Sandy was blessed with many talents and used them in raising funds to benefit others who were in need; and to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; and being a good friend to many. As you may be able to tell from all of this -I miss and will miss Sandy very much.

To Sandy's Family:  It was always fun having an older first cousin.  Some of my memories date back to when we were teenagers and the Johansons would come for a few days and stay with us in Boyd.  In particular, one summer when we were teens, Grandpa Gindt taught us how to play sheephead.  What fun we had!  We had many a game as he was always available to play.  I think of my last visit to Hilton Head and the coffee we would have out on the dock in the mornings.  It was a perfect getaway.  Will miss her always.   Love Essene Grote (Waconia, MN)

Not sure how to express the loss we feel.
It is hard to realize Sandy's not being here. But I'm sure she caused a huge ruckus in heaven which makes me think of the story Uncle Herman and Lawrence always told.  It starts with the building of a machine shed and a new dress that her mother made.  From there it goes to being her being a little annoyance to the Uncles who thought it would be funny to nail her new dress with her to the shed.  She must of been a little rascal.  We also cherish all the times we were together with the Baltimore gang.  Those entertaining card games in hotel rooms, the shopping trips, the family gathering in TN and so many other times.  We will forever hold all those memories and we hope that all your memories will carry you thru

To our Mom/Nana~
We love you and miss you so much. Each of us have been touched in a very "special" way by you. We will always remember you as the fun, out-going, and loving Mom/Nana you were. Also, we will cherish all of the happy memories you have given us, especially our trips to Hilton Head Island, watching the Ravens/Orioles games, watching many rounds of golf together, and all of our family get togethers. We are so thankful and lucky that we had you in our lives. As a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, you were truly amazing. Now, we find comfort knowing that you are no longer suffering and are finally at peace. You will live in our hearts forever.

My dear sister,
We shared so many memories, both good times and bad, the ups and downs of life.  You were always there, as an inspiration, an organizer and planner. We traveled to so many wonderful places together and I miss our daily phone calls.  You would ask "Do you want to go to Niagara Falls, and we can go across to Mackinaw Island and on to Wisconsin for a mini family reunion?" What fun.  I would say that my greatest memory of you was the night you met Wally.  I was a witness to "Love at first Sight" When Wally walked into the room, your reaction was, "You see that guy carrying the ice bucket?  Hands off cause he's for me!"  Within 2 weeks you were engaged, and your beautiful wedding was 3 months later, on September 5, 1964. He was her knight in shining armor.  To Wally, I say thank you for taking such wonderful care of my sister, especially after her stroke, and right up to that final day. The two of you shared a wonderful marriage and have a beautiful family and I love you all.

Dear Wally,
     Just wanted to let you know how much Frank and I are going to miss Sandy. I feel sadness in my heart. She and I had a connection because of being grandmother's to Brittany and Ryan. Our family's celebrations are not going to be the same without her. Frank is going to miss discussing the football pools with her. She was a great lady and is going to be missed a lot by both of us. Rest in peace Sandy.

Dear Mom, I am so grateful for your love, guidance and generosity as a mother. I hope I have been able to share those blessings with my own kids. As a Nana you were second to none. My kids loved when they were able to visit with you and Poppy. You provided so many wonderful memories for all of us. We will continue with family traditions and will make more memories, but they will be bittersweet without you. Just know that you are forever in our hearts. I will always cherish our Alpha Kappa Days. Sandy & I dressing as clowns, enjoying our friends and so much more. Your When Wally met Sandy Anniversary party will have a special place in my thoughts, always. Rest in peace my friend.

To My Dear Wife,
We had a happy marriage and a happy family as our children were growing up. I think this was because we both loved each other and both were willing to bend in certain situations.

You had a wonderful career at Erika's Fashions and I was so proud of what you accomplished with Erika's.

We certainly did some traveling, to your favorite place Bermuda, to all over the U.S.,the Caribbean and back.

I know you were proud of our children and our grandchildren and I know you were looking forward to see how our grandchildren developed. Their going to be O. K..

Darling, I know you were unhappy with your health for the last few years but you were always ready to go until the last few months.

No one should have to endure the things you had to endure however did it with grace.

I will always love you and you will always be on my mind every day.

Sandy & I have been friends since the 7th grade.  We lost contact for several years & then reconnected 50+ years later, when she came into Alpha Lambda chapter sorority.  The old friendship was still there.  I'll miss her,

Even though caring for Sandy will no longer fill your days, thoughts of her will always fill your mind and your heart. She could not have been more loved by you. We were witnesses to a special kind of love that the two of you shared. What fabulous role models for your children and grandchildren to look up to. Love is patient, love is kind... When we think of Sandy many thoughts come to mind. Three words best describe her; Fun, Feisty and a Forever Friend.  We both miss her very much.

My dear Wally and family, you have my sympathy.  I knew Sandy when we were in Fallston, MD in 1964 through the Chi Sigma Sorority.  She was so organized and she wrote a list for everything. In addition to working together on sorority events and fundraisers (especially, the Bingo committee) we enjoyed getting together socially as couples. Sandy and I have been good friends since the 9th grade.  We have kept touch all of these years and when we met, it was just like we had seen each other the day before.  That's real friendship.  During the last years our visits with she and Wally have been infrequent but no less endearing.  I'll miss her lots.

I guess you could say that our families were "married"....through business, Chi Sigma Sorority and as neighbors. We sure celebrated many special occasions throughout our 40 plus years of friendship, including birthdays and anniversaries.  We traveled many miles together by ship, train and car.  Our casino weekends were the best! Sandy made many contributions to try and make the world a better place.  She sure
loved challenges and never backed away from anything.  We are sending much love to the entire Bunch clan at this sad time ~ but please don't be sad ~ as we all know she is standing next to Frank Sinatra and singing right along with him ~ I Did It My Way!  RIP dear friend....

Dear Wally and family - We just heard about Sandy's passing this evening when we attended mass @ St. Joseph's.  Alan and I are deeply saddened and we send our prayers, sympathy and love.  I know you will all miss her very much!

To Wally and the Sandy and Wally Bunch family. Ten years have passed since we first moved into Wexford Gardens and ten years ago we had the very good fortune to occupy a unit in the same building as Sandy and Wally it has proven over those years to have been a most fortuitous happenstance one that we have come to cherish over those same years.  Therefore it is with sincere sadness that  we must now accept the reality of Sandy's passing after her recent surgery. Sandy was a survivor, an indomitable spirit that by the grace of God would not be denied until indeed God decided that Sandy should return to be in His care.  Lee and I will forever remember Sandy and forever miss this most spirited young lady.  Ralph Waldo Emerson said "What lies beyond us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us".
