Sandra Welker Smith

SMITH, SANDRA WELKER, age 79, passed on June 24th. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Edmund P. and Ethel Welker of Taneytown, MD. She was a graduate of State Teachers College (now Towson University) and taught at Pleasant Plains Elementary School. For many years she was the leader, with others, of the Hilltop Girls 4-H club and taught upholstery in the Adult Education Night Classes in the Baltimore County Public Schools. Sandy enjoyed baking, sewing and shopping for others. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank L. Smith; brother, Ronald Welker, Sr. and his wife Carolyn; sister, Judith Kline; daughter, Lynne Hossbach; daughter, Sharon Robertson and her husband James; son, David Smith and his wife Diane; son, Christopher Smith and his wife Amy; along with 9 grandchildren. She was a member of the Havenwood Presbyterian Church in Lutherville-Timonium.

The family will receive friends in the LEMMON FUNERAL HOME OF DULANEY VALLEY INC., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Sunday, 2-6pm. Funeral Services will be celebrated in the funeral home on Monday, June 29 at 11am. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
