

Susan Garson Doud, 70, of Towson, Md., died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2103, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after complications following a long battle with liver disease.
Susan was born on May 28, 1943, at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore to Richard J. and Joan Jobst Garson. Susan grew up in Catonsville, Md., the third of five close-knit sisters. She is survived by all – Kathy Russell, Joan Kerr, Ann McGuire and Mary Garson. She attended Julie Billiart Country Day School in Ellicott City, Md., St. Mark’s School in Catonsville, Md., and The Trinity Preparatory School in Ellicott City. She then went on to establish her interior design business, We Do Windows.
She married Thomas J. Doud, Jr. on April 23, 1966, and lived in Cockeysville, Md., where together they raised a family. She is survived by her husband, Tom, as well as their three adult children and their families, Thomas J. Doud, III and his wife, Barbra; Matthew J. Doud and his wife, Sylvia; and Amanda Doud Blanch and her husband, Dan. She is also survived by nine grandchildren who lovingly knew her as “Grandy” – Amelia, Mary, Lilly, Madison, Henry, Cameron, Charlie, Owen and Ella.
Susan’s many friends knew her for her creative eye, sense of humor, bold spirit and witty disposition. She spent much of her earlier life actively playing tennis, bridge, bowling and skiing. She also loved to cook, read and travel with friends and family.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for her during her recent illness. The family will receive friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home, 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Md., 21093 on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 101 Church Lane, Cockeysville, Md., 21030 on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed in Susan's memory to Maryvale Preparatory School, 11300 Falls Road, Lutherville, Md., 21093.
