I'm so sorry to hear about Will's passing. We worked together at Ocean Pride back in the day. He was always jamming out to the Dead or Phish. He enjoyed life and I'm happy to have been friends with him even for a short time. My condolences to your family.

I hadn't seen Will in some time. Almost 25 years now, but I have the most fondest memories when we were kids. Sitting in Pat's tree fort, Seminary Park, The Cement Hill, The Whistle Stop, hanging out in Mike's basement waiting for Mitch to arrive then laughing til our sides ached when he did realizing he rode all the way from Homeland. You will always be in my thoughts old friend. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Childers family.

I didn't know William but I love Jack, Amy, and Noah and I'm certain that William must have been a spectacular person.  My heart is full of sadness for his family and I send my deepest condolences.

My family built a house directly across the street from the Childers family and we moved into it in early 1973.  I was about 13, Willie (as I always knew him) was about 4.  He had fiery red hair, a pug nose and an extremely sweet disposition.  Early on I served as a baby sitter for the family on occasions when Jack (who was just a little younger than I) was out and Robbie and Willie were home.  One of the strongest memories of my early teens was how Willie would "make the rounds", visiting my Mom, Mrs. Gehris, Mrs. Black, Mrs. Kennedy, Mrs. Naplachowski and Mrs. Clapperton before returning home, fully sated with a cookie or two from each house and having dispensed his childish wit, charm and wisdom to each mother.  As a little fella, he had a slight speech impediment which led him to refer to you as "loo" instead of "you"...I have always remembered Willie with such fondness as a true imprimatur of the sweetness of childhood.  Several years ago I directed a production of "Peter Pan" and sought out for little Michael Darling the child actor who most reminded me of Willie.  So now, perhaps, that is how I will most remember him, soaring amongst the stars in a pair of Dr. Denton's, Teddy Bear in hand on his way to Never-Never Land.  Rest in peace, Willie.
