Ms. Gwendetta lovingly known as “Gwen” or “Deborah” Clark, 68, was called to the Kingdom of God on April 28, 2022 in Surprise, Arizona. Ms. Gwendetta Clark was born on January 18, 1954 in Ferriday, Louisiana. Her parents were Julius & Zernona Morris. She was also blessed with a bonus dad, when her mother met and married Mr. Cleveland Johnson who she affectionately called “daddy”. Gwen moved to Gary, Indiana which she considered her home. Gwendetta attended Roosevelt High School where she met, fell in love with and married Jimmy Davis (who preceded her in death). From that union two sons were born, William D. Davis and Tyree R. Davis of Phoenix Arizona. Her sons were the light of her life. Gwendetta later met and married David Clark whom she enjoyed 42 years of marriage.
Gwendetta accepted Christ at an early age.
During her lifetime Gwendetta had several careers including working at the steel mill but she realized that she had a gift for sales along with her people skills so she started out in sales making women look beautiful by selling them Mary Kay products. She also sold Cable TV, Beepers, Pagers, you name it Gwen could sell it; she ultimately retired from FedEx as an outside sales rep. Gwendetta loved family and made sure that she took her children on family vacations to make lasting lifetime memories and experiences. Some of those vacations took them from Gary, Indiana all the way to California and to Nevada. They would go camping all over the United States. On those occasions you could hear music and laughing as they were making sweet memories all the while “riding in her prized Pink Dragon Van. Now those were the good old days.
Anybody who knew Gwendetta knew that she loved to dance and party and she always had the music playing. She loved to play card games and did not play about bid wisk, she definitely played to win . On a Saturday night it would not be unusual to hear her singing in a joyful voice “I’m Bustin Out” by Rick James.
