Jesus Gregorio Serrato

Jesus Serrato, 82, of Phoenix, passed away on December 21, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on May 25, 1942 to the late Jose Carmen Guevara and Alejandrina Guevara in Phoenix, Arizona. On April 26, 1963 he married his wife Mary Zapata. Jesus worked as a water meter department crew leader for the City of Glendale for over 25 years.

Jesus was a strong, kind, generous and supportive father/grandfather who loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He also enjoyed reading the Bible every day, watching movies, and was an excellent storyteller.

Jesus is survived by his loving spouse of 61 years, Mary Serrato; 5 children, Gregory Anthony Serrato, Rosemarie Altamirano, Manuel Serrato, Michael Serrato, Linda Acero, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He also has 4 surviving siblings, Liz Maya, Frank Guevara, Virginia Vega, and Rosie Amara and is preceded in death by his brother Joe Guevara and sister Elsa Villalva.

A visitation for Jesus will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 512 N 93rd Ave, Tolleson, AZ 85353. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 512 N 93rd Ave, Tolleson, AZ 85353. A graveside service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392.
