September 24, 1951 – April 17, 2025
Merced R. Magallanes, 73, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on September 24, 1951, in Guanajuato, Mexico.
Merced lived a life full of love, strength, and unwavering faith. She came to the United States in pursuit of a better future, a journey that reflected her courage and determination. A proud nursing school graduate, she dedicated her life not only to her family, but also to the well-being of others. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring sister who always looked out for those around her.
Over 30 years ago, Merced became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a decision that profoundly shaped her life. Her relationship with God brought her immense joy, and she lovingly included Him in every part of her life. Her faith was her foundation, and it inspired those who knew her.
Merced is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Jose Magallanes, and her children: Veronica, Angelica, Fernando, and Yesenia. She is preceded in death by her cherished son, Gustavo, who passed away three years ago.
We will honor Merced’s life with a family service on April 30 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, and a memorial for family and friends on May 1 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by burial services.
Merced was an extraordinary woman—vibrant, wise, outspoken, and strong-minded. She lit up every room she walked into and made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her life was rich with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and strength will live on in all who loved her.
Thank you for being part of Merced’s life and for the love and support you have shown her and our family.
