Patricia Ann Cecile Register Wilson, born April 14, 1931 in Rochester, New York, to Cossie Laughton Register and Emma Irene Brash Register, passed away on January 24, 2013 in her home with family members near. She was the second of seven children; Harold, Patricia, Gerald, Sharon, Sandi(Wes), Linda and Ginger(George).
She was slotted to be the school valedictorian in 8th grade in NY, when her family moved to Phoenix, AZ. She attended Phoenix Union High School and met Duane Arthur Wilson, the love of her life and husband of 65 years. Their 6 children are Cynthia Ann Engstrom (Tom), Patti Sue Stepp (David), Duane Arthur Wilson Jr. (Phillis), Kelly Marie Dalmer (Steve), Shannon Irene Jones (Rick), and Dwynda Jo Housari (Ray)
Patricia lived a life of love and service to all she met. She was self educated and knew a great deal about many things. She was the ‘resource’ to her family before computers were invented. She loved the Lord and was willing to serve Him whenever needed. She cherished her family above all else and painted a 10’ by 6’ spreading tree on her living room wall. She hung photos of every one of them on it so she could sit in her easy chair and see her ‘Family Tree’ and feel the love she had for them and them for her.
In addition to raising 6 children, she also was a Tupperware Manager, managed real estate and finances, did bookkeeping for a catering company, and worked, and retired from the IRS assisting taxpayers with their questions. She served in the LDS Church as a member of a Relief Society Presidency and taught many lessons with the Spirit of God. She loved camping and nature. She and Duane traveled a lot in their pretty blue van set up like a camper. Easter at the cabin with the family, and Thanksgiving for 80+ people, with at least 100 pies, was a precious memory of love and fun.
Patricia is survived by her husband Duane, her 6 children, 39 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren (3 more due in 2013), and 2 great great grandsons. Also, extended family; Lois Wilson, Patsy & Joe Roache,
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gerald and her grandson Bradley Jones of the Glendale Police Dept. (E.O.W.2011).
Funeral service will be held on February 1, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4601 W. Encanto Blvd., Phoenix, AZ, she will rest at Greenwood Memorial Lawn, 2300 W. Van Buren. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home, Tolleson, Arizona.
