Dorothy (Dottie) Barillari, age 80, of Toms River passed away at home on March 11, 2024. Born and grew up in Irvington, before moving to Toms River.
Tony and Dottie were together for four years before they decided to get married on September 8, 1962. They were married for 61 years but together for 65.
Tony had many different careers in his life, some of which included, working at a bakery, working at the airport and a sales manager for both San Giorgio and Prince Pasta. He was a driver for HAB, heating and air conditioning and later in his life, a school bus driver, which he loved because of his kids.
Dottie had many different careers, as well, including working on IBM super computers and making records. She also worked in sales for several different companies and was an administrative assistant before retiring. After she retired, she took care of her beloved granddaughter, Savannah Rose, full time.
Both Tony and Dottie loved the outdoors especially the beach. From Island Beach State Park to Cape May, they loved the Jersey Shore. Both had a love of animals and would rescue several cats and dogs in their lifetime. Both loved to go to Atlantic City to have fun and gamble.
Dottie was an active parishioner at Saint Joseph’s church in Toms River. She had a love of gardening, was an avid reader, and was great at trivia.
Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Joseph and his sisters, Lena, Francis, Molly and Bella. Dottie was predeceased by her sister, Terry.
Both are survived by Dottie’s sister, Anna Nogiewich of Toms River; their daughter, Kimberly, of Toms River; their son, Anthony (Tony) and his wife Crystal; and their beloved granddaughter, Savannah Rose of Forked River.
They were both compassionate, kind, and outgoing. Remember them with good times, laughter and smiles. We will them miss greatly. They were together in life, and now together again in peace.
