He left us with his wife Angela, daughter, Marisa, son -in - law, David and their sons David, Bryan, Anthony, Nicky and Christian by his bed side at this home in Brick, NJ.
Tony was born at home 1936 in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn as the second son to parents Carmela and Anthony Brancaccio. He grew up in the Bensonhurst section, on W7th St and Ave U in a predominately Italian American neighborhood, many working class families with relatives living around them. Many aunts, uncles and cousins grew up together sharing meals and many laughs from the Neapolitan, influenced stories and tales from Italy, Tony always enjoyed summers farming, fishing, playing baseball and clowning around with family and friends with a great smile and a mischievous skill.
After graduating high school, Tony’s friends met some ladies from an adjoining neighbor and soon met Angela Catanese, who was a Brooklyn gal that loved Country and Western music. Dad loved riding horses so they shared that interest and soon became inseparable, married and began a family. They had 3 kids: Christopher, Marisa and Anthony the III, eventually moving to Staten Island. Tony started his career with NYPD as a beat cop in Coney Island. His love for horses got him into the Mounted Police Academy where he successfully graduated and became a Mounted Patrol officer for over 17 years in the heart of Manhattan's Central Park and Mid-town Manhattan streets. Once he retired from patrol he took to carpentry building decks and installing attic stairs. Tony decided in 1987 to move to Mesa, AZ and his two sons followed looking for new horizons in the Southwest. Marisa married the year before and moved to New Jersey eventually settling in Brick. Tony continued his passion for horse back riding with Angela in Gold Canyon and up north.
When dad was 70 he rode with his nephew, Anthony Bauer, down the Grand Canyon trail down to Phantom Ranch! As his dementia increased, Angela and Tony decided to move closer to Marisa and they became Brick Residents where he passed at home hospice this October.
