McGettigan, Anthony, - died Tuesday in Rockaway Park, NY after a long illness. He was 87. Born in County Donegal, Ireland, he immigrated to the United States in the 1950s settling in New York City. He was the manager of McAnn's Bar and Restaurant in Grand Central Station and Third Avenue for 25 years. He was a member of the Hotel and Restaurant Employees International Union. After retiring from McAnn's, he was the proprietor of the Claddagh House in Rockaway Park, NY. Anthony was an avid New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. He loved horse racing and enjoyed visiting Belmont and Saratoga. He is survived by his brothers: James of Atlantic City, NJ; Manus (Annie) McGettigan of Absecon, NJ and sister-in-law Annie Theresa (Tess) McGettigan of Toms River, NJ, as well as many nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be from 8:30-9:45 am on Monday, May 1 at the Andersen and Campbell Funeral Home, Toms River, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Toms River, NJ. Burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
