Arthur Silvestrone

Arthur Silvestrone Sr., 80, passed away on May 29, 2012, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, with his loving family by his side. He was born August, 30, 1931, in Ofeana, Italy. Arthur bravely served his country in the U.S. Navy. As a young boy growing up on Long Island, he picked up a golf club and found his passion. He later became member of the P.G.A. and was a top performer at both the state and national levels. Moving to New Jersey, he made his living at Pine Brook Country Club in Belle Mead and became part owner. After retiring at age fifty, he joined the P.G.A. Senior Tour, competing successfully for several years.

He is survived by his wonderful wife Jane, daughter Luisa Silvestrone of Toms River, and two sons: Art Jr. and his wife Denise of Toms River, and Salvatore and his wife Anne of Manalapan. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren: Eric, Joseph, Michael, Elizabeth, Emily, Anthony, and Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, 10:00 a.m., St. Joseph Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. Cremation will be private.
