Brian David Maresca, 42, of Pine Beach, NJ, passed away on January 1, 2016, at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. He was born in Pompton Plains to William and Marilyn Maresca, and grew up in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Brian lived in Toms River before moving to Pine Beach in 2003. Brian worked for Verizon Communications for the past 18 years as a technician, most recently in Toms River. Brian was a diehard New York Giants, Boston Red Sox and New Jersey Devils fan, however his greatest joy was his son, Daniel and his greatest passion and happiness was coaching and watching his son, Daniel, his "best dude", play hockey, just as he had done growing up. Brian was a bench coach for Daniel’s team, on the Toms River Blackhawks Mites, and enjoyed his hockey "family." Brian enjoyed bowling, most recently playing in the Wednesday night league at Finnigans with his friends. Brian was a former member of the Pine Beach Yacht Club where he had enjoyed hanging with his friends and at one time sailed in the Friday night Sunfish series. Brian loved boating, fishing and pheasant hunting, which he shared with and taught his son, Daniel. In the summer, Brian would most often be found on the dock in Pine Beach, fishing and crabbing with Daniel, or enjoying the weekends at Tices Shoal on his boat, Seadate, with Daniel, his wife and friends. Most of all, Brian loved his family and will be dearly missed by them.
Brian is survived by his adoring parents, William and Marilyn Maresca; loving wife Lisa of 9 years; his son Daniel Patrick Maresca at home; his two step-sons: Ryan Murphy of Bloomfield, NJ, and Conor Murphy of Wilmington, NC; his two brothers: William Maresca Jr. of Waretown, NJ, and Christopher Maresca of Gulfport, FL; his sister Cynthia Maresca of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; his nephew, Matthew Maresca and niece, Amanda Maresca.
Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
