

Retired U.S. Navy Yeoman Chief Petty Officer, David J. Stewart, 66, of Toms River, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was a resident of Toms River since 1964. David served with distinction in the U.S. Navy for 21 years. His last duty assignment was on the USS America followed by his separation at Lakehurst Naval Air Base. After retiring, David worked in Human Resources for 21 years at WWRD Co. in Wall. David enjoyed spending time with his family and will be sorely missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Wayve Stewart. Surviving are his beloved wife of 44 years, Anna (Formica) Stewart; four daughters, Tracie Costello and her husband Brian of Toms River, Julie Mallon of Eatontown, Tonie Henry and her husband Thomas and Rita Zygmund, all of Toms River; and his cherished 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at St. Justin the Martyr Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Military interment will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in David's memory.
