Doris Brand

Doris Brand, 90, of Toms River, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at home. Born in Long Branch to James and Alice Dean; she was a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore. An executive secretary, Doris worked for Shoprite Supermarkets for 42 years before retiring. Doris was a member of Professional Secretaries International for many years. She loved boating and her annual vacations to Cancun with friends and family. She loved her family and pets.

She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Walter in 2012 and a son William in 2010. She is survived by her son Walter Jr. and his wife Mary Carole of Farmingdale; a daughter, Patricia Tarpy and her husband William of Freehold; and a son James and his significant other Michele of South Toms River. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Walter W. Brand III of Farmingdale, Dr. Scott Brand and his wife Chris of S.C., Carole and Joe Viars of S.C., Alicia and Joey Botticelli of Keyport and Diana Lynn Brand of Brick. Doris is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Tabitha of Las Vegas, Joey of S.C., Heather of Farmingdale, William, Christopher and Joseph of Keyport, Walter Wesley IV and Mary Elizabeth of Farmingdale; and her beloved Sammy of Toms River.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 1 to 4 p.m. with the service from 4 to 5 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Cremation will be private. Condolences may be made by visiting www.andersonandcampbell.com.
