Douglas Borup

AGE: 57 • Pine Beach

Douglas A. Borup, age 57, of Pine Beach, was taken early from his loved ones by an unexpected heart attack on Friday, January 13, 2012. He was born July 21, 1954 to Donald and Arlene Borup and raised in Colts Neck, NJ. Doug was an ironworker for 40 years, a path he followed his father in, and a career that allowed him to enjoy what he loved most - the outdoors. A lifelong sailor and skier, Doug spent his summers on the Barnegat Bay and winters in the mountains of Vermont, filling every moment with the things he loved to share with those closest to him.

Doug is survived by his loving wife June Borup, who has shared the past 35 years with him, adored daughter, Sarah, and a family he loved dearly. Douglas also leaves behind parents, Don and Arlene; brothers, Gregory and Scott Borup; and, sisters, Donna Caruso, Pam Struble, Alison Liberty, and their spouses. He will remain, in spirit, with us forever.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home. Cremation will be private.
