Emil Koenig of Toms River, NJ passed away at Ocean Medical Center surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Born in Paterson NJ, he grew up in Clifton and lived in Randolph for over 35 years before moving to Toms River in 2008.
He served in the US Navy and was an office manager in the Tire Sales and Distribution business. His love of animals, especially dogs, brought him to Ocean County Park as an attendant. He enjoyed oil painting, water colors and framing various works of art. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, you could always find him in his recliner watching football games. He enjoyed the beach life, fishing and crabbing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet; children, Christine Hartman (John) of Long Valley, NJ., Laura DiMeola (Patrick) of Plumsted, NJ., Amy Lindstedt (Michael) of Mine Hill, NJ; six grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, John, Julianna, Kayla, and Jacob; and one brother, William (Betty) of California.
The family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity may be made.
