Frances “Dolly” Iaconi, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on September 15, 2014, in Toms River. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1926, to Vito and Angelina Summo. After graduating H.S., Dolly attended Drakes Business College. She met and married the love of her life, her beloved husband, Mario Patrick Iaconi. Together they raised their five daughters, who then gave them a wonderful extended family of grandchildren. Dolly moved to Island Heights in 1950; then to Toms River in 1955 to live by St. Joseph Parish. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and was active in the church for many years. She truly lived her religion, never letting anyone leave her house hungry, and providing shelter for many till they could get on their feet. Although she was trained to work in an office, Dolly preferred working in Howard Johnson’s as a waitress while raising her children. She later worked as a bookbinder at Ocean County Advertising, and finally as a home health aide for ten years. She loved all animals, and had many dogs, cats, fish, and a rabbit. Dolly loved to read, watch movies, and decorate her home. She loved making beautiful flower arrangements and giving them for gifts. Her zest for life, made all the lives she touched more beautiful by her presence. She will be truly missed.
Dolly was predeceased by both her parents, her six siblings, her granddaughter Michele Nelson, and her husband Mario. She is survived by her five daughters: Joyce Oldson and her husband John of Woodbury, NJ, Patricia Murray and her husband George of Woodbury, NJ, Jane Falabella and her husband Al of Toms River, NJ, Susan Leach and her husband Ron of Toms River, NJ, and Francine Forgione and her husband Tom of Bayville, NJ. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Michael, Jill, Carla, and Suzanne; her five great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Anthony Penna; her nieces and nephews; her many friends; and her beloved dog Leo.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 18th, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Joseph Church on Friday. Burial will be immediately following at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ, is in charge of arrangements.
