The youngest child of 4 siblings (Harry, Bobby, and Mary Jane); Jerry was born on August 29th to Harold and Frances Davis in Newark, NJ in 1937. His childhood years were happily spent in Olympic Park in Irvington, New Jersey.
Known as 'Jerry', he was a quick friend to many, and genuinely loved by his circle of family and friends. He enjoyed a lifelong career in the automotive business, spanning 70 years. Most recently employed by Auto Plus, he will be sadly mourned and greatly missed by his new circle of coworkers and friends.
His life was filled with his love for cars, motorcycles, (especially riding his Harley Electra Glide Full Dresser), his pet cockatiels, and Dixieland music. He enjoyed his cross-country family vacations, fishing off his boat, ‘The Poor Boy’, watching NASCAR, and attending local racing. His passionate commitment to the daily care and feeding of all the wild birds in his yard, was unparalleled.
Clearwater Beach was his happy place, especially when sharing that time with his brother Bobby and his Florida circle of family and friends. During his life in Toms River, he was a devoted parishioner of St. Justin the Martyr Roman Catholic Church, attending weekly masses without fail.
His family extends their true appreciation to the outpouring of love and condolences received during this difficult time. He will be greatly mourned by all the lives he touched throughout his full life.
Due to current conditions, there will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org), would be appreciated.
