In loving memory of Giovanna Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Giovanna Smith, who left this world peacefully on August 1st, 2025 at the age of 94. She was a guiding light in our family- warm, kind, and endlessly giving.

Giovanna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love and the way she made everyone feel at home in her presence. She cherished her family above all else and filled our lives with laughter, comfort, and unconditional love.

She is survived by her son, Tory Smith and his wife, Suzanne Smith, and their children, Ryan Smith (wife Brianne Smith) and Emilee Smith; her granddaughter, Leslie Mancini and her husband, Chris Mancini, and their children Brianna & Luciano Mancini; her granddaughter, Ashley Morris and her husband, Matt Morris and their children, Madison, Tyler and Giovanna Morris.

She is also reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Thomas Smith, who passed in February 2021 and her eldest daughter Deborah Steward who passed May of 2025.

Her love, wisdom and warmth touched everyone she met. Though we will miss her deeply, her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church at 12pm on Saturday, August 16th, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. A small intimate reception will follow the service at Christie's Italian Seafood Grill, 2420 US-9, Howell, NJ 07731. Attendance is by invitation only.
