

Jackson Weatherbee Tarbell Kennedy of Toms River, NJ died Monday, January 19, 2015. Born June 28, 1939, he was a son of the late Lilian Tarbell Kennedy and Captain Anthony Kennedy, Jr. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at The Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, New Jersey on Saturday, January 31 at 11 am. A second memorial service will be held this summer in Eagles Mere, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by wife, Patricia; children: Elizabeth “Lisa” Kennedy Duke of Cary, NC, Richard “Paca” Kennedy II of Los Angeles, CA, and Alexandra “Looie” Kennedy Gittines of Southbury, CT; step-children: Andrea Moore of New Fairfield, CT and Randy Moore of Southern Pines, NC; brother, Anthony Kennedy III of Muncy, PA; and grand-children: Cannon, Jackson, Avalon, Lili, Isabel, and Ada. He is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Kennedy.
Lt. Kennedy attended Episcopal Academy in Merion, PA. He graduated from the US Naval Academy, Class of 1961. He served as Operations Officer on the USS York County (LST-1175), Executive Officer on the USS New London County (LST-1066), and Weapons Officer on the USS Waldron (DD-699) as part of the NASA Gemini Recovery Team. He graduated with his Masters in Architecture from Penn State University. He designed and constructed residential houses and commercial buildings during his long career as an architect.
Lt. Kennedy was a member and served on committees of the Eagles Mere Presbyterian Church in Eagles Mere, PA. He enjoyed membership and Bible study at the Presbyterian Church in Toms River, NJ.
