Dearest Kennedy Family!!

My deepest and heartfelt condolences on your loss. Jim was truly besides being my College Room mate! one of my dearest best friends in life!! We didn't speak very often but Jim was like the Brother I never had as Mary the Sister I never had.

After College, Jim was able to find a flying job that was in Houston Tx. We hadn't seen each other forever. so I came to visit via a Greyhound Bus from Toledo, Ohio to Houston Tx long 2.5 days! needless to say I flew home!! After that I was flying in Ohio Jim had gotten on with a company called Royale Airlines in Shreveport La. Jim convinced them to take a chance on me. We were together again! Then Jim moved onto New York Air! later on New York Air merged into Continental Airlines. almost a year later I got on with Continental too. Once again we were together, albeit he was in Newark I was all over the place, but primarily In Houston. Time grew on we were still tight I use to come up to Ny NJ Jim and his Dad had a very nice Boat we would go out on it quite a bit. I truly love Jims family Jack his Dad Katsie his Mom btw my other mother!!! Just saying!! During NYA and Continental Jim met Rose Mary his beloved wife! Then they had their children. Just a Great Father family Man and Pilot! Jim and I went through many years and trials and tribulations while in College. We did it all together truly. We both made it. It was a lot of hard work and dedication. I was always proud of my Roomy from College. Jim we hadn't spoke much as of late but I always alway's thought of you and us just doing and sharing things together. You'll be Missed my dear friend, room mate, confidont! practically brother! R I P My True Friend!!!! Bob

“Apple” Jimmy

You were the ultimate uncle, dad, and husband. You made us laugh for many years. Our memories of camping will keep you in my heart and I will miss you terribly. I will tell my kids of their awesome Uncle who flew planes and made us laugh and most of all made my aunt RoRo so happy.

Uncle Jim,
You are going to be so missed. I will never forget when I would spend weeks at a time in Florida with you and RoRo, and we would make silly videos and laugh for hours. You were the uncle everyone wished they had.
Heaven has gained an amazing angel....I know you're already making them laugh up there. ❤ I will hold on to my memories of you forever.
Love, Katy

I only had the pleasure of flying with Jim a few times but he left an incredible, and indelible, impression.

Jim was one of my favorite captains to fly with. He always set a great tone in the cockpit and was both a great leader and a good friend. He will be dearly missed.

I want to extend my warmest sympathies to his family and tell them what they already know. Jim was a great captain and we were very lucky to have him at United.

With my condolences,

Paul Mateychak

I always enjoyed flying with Jim on the 777. Good conversations about life and some good meals at Giordano’s Pizza in Chicago and the Weber Grill restaurant. Rest In Peace Jim and God Bless your family.

Jim was one of those pilots you looked forward to flying with or just seeing him around the airport. Last time I saw Jim we had breakfast together while in training—although he was finished, he sat with me and we enjoyed talking shop. I’ll cherish that memory. So sad, way too young.
