Janet Casey-Gerrity

Janet Casey-Gerrity, affectionately known as “Casey”, 76, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Bayside Manor after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Flushing, NY. Janet grew up in Garden City, NY, and enjoyed many vacations in Glen Spey, NY. She later settled in NJ to be close to her family and friends. Janet was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club, Shadow Lake Village Chapter, and a volunteer and member of Christ Episcopal Church in Toms River. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Janet was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 2012. She is survived by her two sons: Brian Casey and wife Nancy, and Shawn Casey and wife Karen; four step-daughters: Janet Porter and husband Donald, Lynne DiReda and husband Christopher, Sharon Zielinski and husband Daniel, and Gail Burke and husband Christopher. Janet is also survived by her brother William Broschart; her two sisters: Michel Gotlieb and Lois Whitford, eighteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019, from 6 to 9 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Memorial Service will be held at on Friday, January 4th, 2019, at 10 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. Cremation was private.
