John was a US Army Veteran who served in Germany. In 1973, he moved to Beachwood, where he raised his family and coached Little League Baseball for many years. John moved to Bayville and retired from GPU Nuclear in 1996.
Family and friends always looked forward to his wonderful backyard barbecues, enjoying John’s famous ribs and clams. Holiday meals were highlighted by Polish favorites and his incredible electric train display. He also loved cruising with his wife, Jodie, and her brother and sister-in-law, George and Merri Lee Becker, especially on trips to Alaska, Panama and the Caribbean. John had a love for the beach and watching his favorite sporting events: the LA Dodgers, NY Giants, Duke basketball and the Haskell at Monmouth Park.
He was a communicant of St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church in Bayville for over fifty-three years, where he attended mass every Sunday morning.
John is survived by his wife Joanne Raab, three sons: Michael (Debra), Martin (Sara), and Thomas; a daughter, Meghan Lamar (Kyle); a stepson, James Raab (Katie); and nine grandchildren: Jake, Noah, Brock, and Julia Marcinczyk; Cayden, Carson, and Camryn Lamar; and Alexandria and Meredith Raab.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice, and his twin brothers, Donald and Ronald.
