

His parents emigrated from Sicily, and Joseph was born and raised in Manhattan, NY. Joseph also lived in Rockland County, NY and Charleston, SC before settling in Berkeley Township in 2002.
After serving proudly for the U.S. Army at the rank of Captain, he spent his civilian career as a menswear designer-importer. He worked in the Empire State Building and also traveled internationally (Asia and Middle East) on a regular basis. After his retirement in the late 1990’s, he enjoyed listening to opera, doing crossword puzzles, and watching his beloved New York Yankees. Joseph was known and loved for his animated joke and storytelling, and for always being the gracious host.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughter, Angela Velez and husband Tony; daughter, Christine (Boo) Sanchez; and one grandson, Cole Sanchez.
Arrangements were entrusted to Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ 08755.
Service will be Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 2:30 pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
