

Joseph was born in Newark, NJ. His parents were Joseph N. and Lucia Papaleo. He grew up in Montclair, NJ. He also lived in Mt. Arlington, Toms River, and Florida before moving to Berkeley Township in 2002.
Joseph was a veteran of the Korean War, stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He started his career as a Journeyman Engraver at International Engraving Corp. in Cedar Grove, NJ where he worked for over 20 years. He also had a second career as a sales representative for Mercedes Benz of North America. Throughout his life he enjoyed having homes on the water and boating. Besides his devotion to his family, his other passions were a love for all animals and caring for his 24 koi fish in his backyard fishpond.
Joseph is predeceased by his parents, Joseph N. and Lucia Papaleo; and his brother, Michael A. Papaleo. He is also predeceased by sons-in-law, John D. Brady and William J. Campbell.
Surviving him are his beloved wife of 70 years, Madeline Papaleo; three children, Janine Brady (Robert Veech), Diana Campbell, and Joseph N. Papaleo 3rd; four grandchildren, Megan, Jessica, Pamela, Sarah; and 6 great grandchildren.
