Born in Hackensack, he lived in Passaic and Florida before moving to Barnegat 9 years ago.
Mr. Zafonte was an auto body mechanic for most of his career, and most recently was employed by Oxygen Supply Co. of Ocean County.
He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
He was predeceased by his father, Angelo, in 1989.
He is survived by his mother, Caroleah of Barnegat; two brothers, Carl of Pennsylvania and Michael of Manahawkin; and several nieces.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.
