

Julius M. Schwarz was born December 29, 1935 in Hillside, NJ to Julius Paul Schwarz and Elizabeth (Small) Schwarz. He attended Hurden Looker Grammar School in Hillside until 1949, when he moved to Highlands, NJ.
Jules attended high school in Atlantic Highlands and then joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953. After boot camp on Paris Island, SC, and then infantry training at Camp LaJuene, NC, he proudly served in the Korean war. There, he served with the 1st Marine Division and was an expert rifleman. He was honorably discharged as an E4 Sergeant and remained in the reserves until 1964.
He worked with several electricians throughout Monmouth County after he served his beloved country and then started to work at Jersey Central Power & Light in 1958. He worked as a lineman and finished his career in the commercial meter division. He was well known throughout JCP&L and became known as “The Hammer.” He received an excellent service award and served as a Union Rep with local 1309 at all JCP&L locations in NJ, before retiring in 1996.
Jules started his life Hillside, NJ, then lived in Highlands, Sea Bright, Middletown, Oceanport, Eatontown, West Long Branch, and finally lived in Toms River with his wonderful girlfriend, Joy Pellerito.
He loved his cars, boats, poker, horses, stained glass work, photography, Donald Trump, and most of all, his family, friends and neighbors. Jules was one of a kind, and had an extremely unique personality, as we all know… He was, undoubtedly one of the greatest, of the greatest generation.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 25th, 2025 from 3pm to 7pm at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Rt. 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755.
An interment will be held on Monday, April 28th, 2025 at 11 am at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
