Larry Zerilli

Lawrence Zerilli, age 68, of Manchester, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Larry is survived by his wife, Karen Zerilli; his children, Michael Albert and Stacey Marie Zerilli; and his siblings, Josephine, Joseph, Robert, and Anthony Zerilli. He is predeceased by his sister, Maryanne Zerilli; brothers, Carmine and Michael Zerilli; and his parents, Sebastiano and Rose Zerilli.

Lawrence was born in Bronx, NY on November 28, 1953 to Sebastiano and Rose Zerilli. He was a graduate of Howell High School. On August 11, 1979, Lawrence married the love of his life, Karen Ann Brown. They met on a blind date and were engaged three months later. He affectionately called her “shorty” and she called him “my Larry”.

With the support of his wife and the guidance of his mentor Nathan Schwartz, Lawrence received his degree in Culinary Arts from Atlantic Community College in 1983. He went on to work as an institutional chef, most notably holding the position of Executive Chef at CentraState Hospital, where he healed people with his food and kindness for 15 years.

Most recently, Lawrence was working as the cook for The Learning Experience in Howell, NJ, where he found great joy in working with the children and staff there.

Lawrence’s greatest achievements were his two children, Michael and Stacey. Lawrence was an incredible father figure and role model not only to them but also to their cousins, their friends, and other members of his family.

Lawrence found joy in expressing kind gestures; he was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. He gave valuable insight and advice. He will be beautifully remembered and profoundly missed by those who knew him.
