Leighton P. Miller

Leighton P. Miller was born April 8, 1937, in Elizabeth, NJ. He passed away at home on February 20th, 2026, with his wife by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Floyd L. Miller and Ruth P. Miller and a sister, Marilyne. Leighton lived in Westfield, NJ. Leighton lived in with his family while attending the Westfield School system before the family moved to Morristown, NJ.

He attended Michigan State University where he majored in business and finance. After graduation he worked for Dow Jones and the Department of Environmental Protection as a State Park Ranger. During this time, he met the love of his life Peggy Kline, and for the next 48 ½ years they loved, laughed and enjoyed their life together as the traveled.

Leighton was a big sports fan and especially enjoy watching his MSU games as well as other college teams. He was a proponent of the environment and encouraged others to protect it in this role as State Park Ranger.

He is survived by his wife Peggy, sister Lois Grzenda, nephew, Greg Grzenda and this Wife Tammy, niece, Karen Pilles, nephew, Daniel Grzenda, nephew, David Grzenda and niece Rachel Mohr and several grand nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, located at 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753, on February 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A service will follow at the same venue, beginning at 6:30 pm.
