Lois June Larson

Lois Larson, 84, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on November 25, 2015 with family by her side. She was born and raised in Ravenswood, WV and was the daughter of the late H.E. and Amy Morehead. Lois resided in West Springfield, MA for 54 years until relocating to Toms River in 2013.

Lois will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 61 years, S. William Larson; daughters Cheryl (Chris) Christiansen of Toms River, NJ and Cindy (Ed Moura) Larson of Barrington, RI; and grandchildren Brian Christiansen of Toms River, NJ and Jessica Christiansen of Manassas Park, VA. She is also survived by her sister Maxine (Gerald Jr.) Price of Owensboro, KY and sister-in-law Joan Battye of Paxton, MA along with niece and nephews Gerald (Glenda) Price III of Louisville, KY; Patti Price of Deer Valley, KY; Gregory (Judy) Heath of North Andover, MA; and seven great nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Marshall College, Lois was a teacher, nurturing the young minds of her fourth grade class in Ravenswood, WV and later leading the after school program at the Children's Center at Mittineague Congregational Church in West Springfield, MA. She loved music, singing and dancing, and had the honor of playing taps for fallen soldiers during World War II. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the coast of Maine which will be her final resting place.

One of Lois's greatest wishes was that she be remembered with laughter not tears. In keeping with Lois's express directive, calling hours are omitted and there will be no funeral services. A celebration of her life will be held at a future time. Her family wishes to thank and recognize the wonderful staff of the Regency Memory Care Club where Lois spent so many happy days, and all the friends and neighbors who brought her joy throughout her life.
