Maria Leiter

Maria "Marie" Moore Leiter, passed away on June 6, 2024 at the age of 97 in Whiting, NJ. She was born on October 7, 1926 in Liverpool, England. In 1956 she met her husband Alexander in Liverpool, then later made NJ her home for over 60 years. Marie was a beloved member of the community and the heart of her family.

She will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and respectful person, known for her caring nature and selfless personality made her very likable to all who knew her. Always available for tea and biscuits. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Eric, Kurt, Mark, Al, and Alexia, her sister Teresa, brother-in-law William Airey from Canada, 18 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren who kept her young at heart. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander and her 2 sons John and Karl.

Marie served in the British army during WWII. Later, pursued a successful career as the CEO of the Leiter Family. She was a parishioner at Saint Barnabas Catholic Church and found solace in her faith.

In her free time, Marie enjoyed pottery, knitting and gardening. She had a passion for travel and exploring new places.

Most of all, was her love for baseball and watching her sons play.

A viewing in remembrance of Marie will be held on June 13th from 12pm to 2pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home on Main St. Toms River, NJ, to honor her life and the love she shared with all who knew her.
